Every class at VUS carries its own rhythm: the energy of students eager to learn, the dedication of teachers guiding them, and the quiet support of assistants who hold it all together.
What makes this environment special is not just the curriculum, but the culture where challenges become lessons, lessons become experiences, and experiences become bonds that last.

VUS Teaching assistants – Turning challenges into little miracles
What does it take to turn daily classroom struggles into breakthroughs?
At VUS, every challenge in the classroom holds the seed of change. And it is often the teaching assistants who quietly nurture that seed-turning silence into voices, hesitation into courage, and difficulties into sparks of growth.
Story 1: Patience, Confidence, and the Joy of Learning
At VUS Di An, Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Nga shows how quiet persistence can turn hesitation into confidence.
There was a student who did not participate in class discussions or write a word in the exercise. But with my persistence and continued effort, she has become more engaged during lessons. Such wonderful things have given me more self-assurance and drive to face all challenges.
Training Quality Manager Ms. Bich Thuy shared:
“Nga always takes good care of her work; that is why students want to study the next course with her. She also won an award as one of the teaching assistants with the highest re-enrollment rate in 2022.”

Story 2: The joy hidden in laughter

For Mr. Dang Hung Thinh at VUS To Ky 2, true strength comes not from perfection but from the happiness his students bring.
The students’ joy is inspiring and helps me feel less pressured at work. During a Christmas vocabulary lesson, one student made a hilarious comment about the Tooth Fairy not being real, which made the whole class laugh. The student's innocence and curiosity to learn motivated me to share more knowledge with them.
According to Training Quality Manager Mr. Hung Yen:
“Thinh is a proactive TA. He’s always trying to acquire new skills about classroom management and teacher support. Many teachers consider Thinh to be highly efficient, confident and caring.”
The joy of being a VUS Teaching Assistant comes from simple but unforgettable moments. It may be a shy student who slowly grows braver each day, a funny comment that fills the class with laughter, or the sparkle in a learner’s eyes when they realize their own progress.
These little stories make every lesson more than just teaching. They bring happiness, create memories, and remind every assistant why their role matters so much.
Vietnamese teachers at VUS – Beyond lessons, creating lasting happiness
What if the secret to teaching and learning was as simple as joy?
At VUS, happiness is the spark that turns lessons into memories, teachers into mentors, and classrooms into places where both hearts and minds can grow.
Story 3: From student to colleague, joy comes full circle
For more than 21 years at VUS Quang Trung, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hieu has carried the joy of seeing his students succeed, some of whom now walk beside him as fellow teachers and assistants:
Many of my students have now become my colleagues at my own campus. Some of them are teachers, some of them are teaching assistants. Every time they see me, they still call me “teacher” because they have learned a lot from me. It’s very rewarding for me to receive such an honor.

Former Training Quality Manager Ms. Bao Khuyen shared:
“As a dedicated teacher, Mr. Hieu always shows up with a positive vibe and an enthusiastic attitude. He’s also very eager to connect with colleagues and students around him.”
For Mr. Hieu, pride does not come from titles or achievements but from witnessing the progress of generations of students who now walk confidently on their own paths. Seeing them grow, return, and even stand beside him as colleagues has become the greatest source of motivation.
It is this full circle of joy from teacher to student, and from student back to colleague, that fuels his dedication and keeps his passion for teaching alive after more than two decades at VUS.
Story 4: When a classroom feels like friendship
At VUS Becamex, Mr. Vu Quoc Dai has discovered that joy often blossoms when students see their teacher not only as an instructor, but also as a trusted companion:
One day, a student came to me and showed me a beautiful dress, saying it was a gift from her parents for her good performance in the midterm tests. She said it was her dream to get good marks, and that moment brought me a sense of joy knowing I have become a trusted ‘friend’ for students to share their stories with.

For Vietnamese teachers at VUS, happiness is found in the simplest yet most meaningful moments. It is the pride of watching students grow into colleagues and the warmth of being trusted as a friend beyond the classroom.
These stories show that teaching is not only about knowledge but also about connections that endure. This joy, nurtured day by day, turns every lesson at VUS into a journey of shared growth and lasting inspiration.
Expat teachers at VUS – Bridges that inspire dreams
Sometimes, the most beautiful stories begin in the simplest ways. At VUS, a thoughtful gift, a shared laugh, or a word of encouragement can plant seeds that grow into lifelong memories.
For our teachers, joy is not only about teaching English but about witnessing how these little sparks transform into lasting bonds.
Story 5: A Gift Beyond the Lesson
In just eight months at VUS Nguyen Van Tang, Ms. Michelle Pham has already collected heartfelt memories. One student made her day unforgettable with a simple yet touching gesture:
A particularly fond memory I had was when a student recently had a birthday and gifted me a small handful of treats and stickers the next day in class. It was so charming and adorable and I felt touched that they had thought about me even when I wasn’t present.
Mr. Hoang Cuong, Training Quality Manager at VUS Nguyen Van Tang:
“Ms. Michelle is a passionate teacher who willingly takes on classes of any level, never shying away from challenges.”

Perhaps it is this spirit of embracing challenges, together with the warmth she receives from her students, that gives Ms. Michelle the strength to keep moving forward. For her, even the simplest gestures of affection become unforgettable memories and a reminder of why she chose to teach.
Story 6: The Pride of Progress

For Ms. Hannah Phillips at VUS Ten Lua, the greatest reward comes from seeing her students grow. With her solid background in linguistics, every success of her students reflects the care and expertise she brings into the classroom:
Witnessing my students' progress is heartwarming and validates my teaching. My younger VUS students have performed exceptionally well on end-of-course tests, proving my teaching has made a positive impact, and I take pride in contributing a part to their success.
Ms. Thu Loan, Training Quality Manager at VUS Ten Lua:
“Ms. Hannah is a patient and engaging teacher, known for her inspiring lessons and fun activities. Her strong work ethic and excellent communication skills have made her a valuable member of the campus community.”
Story 7: When Students Return as Colleagues
After ten years at VUS Dong Nai – Phan Trung, Ms. Flordeliza Malabanan has seen her students grow into professionals and even colleagues:
A former student of mine is now a member of the VUS teaching force and works part-time in the HR Department. She once sent me a letter of appreciation sharing how grateful she is for everything she had learned at VUS. It is always a cause for celebration knowing you have been a part of someone’s meaningful journey towards success.
Mr. Hung Phong, Training Quality Manager at VUS Dong Nai – Phan Trung:
“She is a caring and supportive teacher who always creates a nurturing environment that feels like a second home to the students.”

Teaching is not only about lessons but about shaping lives. One student’s laughter, another’s gratitude, or the day they return as a colleague shows why the classroom is more than four walls. Every story here reminds us that teaching is a shared journey of pride, joy and lasting connection.
The stories shared here are more than personal moments. They reflect a classroom culture where happiness fuels learning, and progress is celebrated as joy. This is the promise of VUS: a community where every step forward, no matter how small, is a reason to smile.
