The Aftermath of Typhoon Yagi

Northern Vietnam recently experienced the devastating impact of Super Typhoon Yagi, which left a trail of destruction across the region. Homes, schools, and essential infrastructure were severely damaged, and many students lost access to vital learning materials, including books and school supplies. This has posed significant challenges for students eager to resume their education but facing overwhelming obstacles in doing so.

VUS's Commitment to Community Support

As a leader in education, VUS is dedicated not only to academic excellence but also to supporting our communities during difficult times. Guided by our core value of Care, VUS has initiated the Love Backpacks Campaign. This campaign aims to provide 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in the North affected by the typhoon. These backpacks will help students return to school with the tools they need to continue their education.

The VUS Family Comes Together

The success of this initiative is made possible by the contributions of VUS students, parents, and staff. Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed countless heartwarming moments as families have come together to donate school supplies and share messages of encouragement for the affected students. This outpouring of generosity has exemplified the spirit of solidarity within the VUS community, showing that we stand together in times of need.

Connecting with Affected Communities

The VUS team quickly worked with local authorities and organizations in Northern Vietnam to deliver Love Backpacks to families affected by severe flooding. The “Love Backpacks” campaign , supported by parents, students, and the VUS community, has completed its first phase in kindergartens, elementary schools, and middle schools in Yen Bai Province. A total of 306 students received financial support and gifts like school supplies, milk, and essential items, totaling 700,000,000 VND. This helps allow these students to quickly return to school and work toward a better future.
