Right here at VUS, there’s a whole world of exciting extracurricular activities waiting for teachers and students, such as:
This special book offers free writing activities for VUS students, encouraging them to be more creative and confident without being judged. Within its pages, students are granted the freedom to select subjects that pique their interest and express their ideas without inhibition, thereby honing and nurturing their personal writing skills.
These are equally awesome as they will unleash students’ creativity and joy! Whether it’s drawing, making postcards, or even crafting cool DIY projects, our teachers know how to make learning engaging and exciting. Students will be amazed at what they can create while developing their language skills.
This amazing series of extracurricular activities offers unforgettable experiences like camping trips and practical outdoor lessons for students on summer holiday. Imagine exploring nature while also improving your English skills. It’s the perfect combo of fun and learning for both students and teachers!
These activities are exclusive to VUS provincial campuses. Dive into the vibrant traditions of Vietnam and many different countries by celebrating holidays or teaching special lessons. It’s a celebration of diversity and unity that will broaden students’ horizons and help teachers get used to local customs.
Let’s hear what our teachers and teaching assistants are saying about their journey at VUS, where they constantly bring out the best in students.
Mr. Spencer is a young and dedicated teacher who is always creative in his lessons and has earned high appreciation from students.
“It was a lesson about memory and I designed a memory game for students to play in groups. I would start by showing them pictures and they all had to try to remember what they saw or write down what they saw. They loved it and got very competitive, the whole class that day had so much fun. Every class afterwards they would keep asking me “Mr Spencer, can we do the memory game again?” It was so great to see how happy they were about it. When you make something like that and they enjoy it, there’s nothing else like it.”

Mr. Cong Hieu has been at VUS for more than 2 decades and has taught countless generations of students, with many of them making massive progress in their life up to now.
“It is an immense honor to observe the progress of my students. Beyond their daily advancements, I have witnessed remarkable strides among many individuals who were once under my guidance. Some have completed their studies and returned to my campus as teaching assistants or teachers. Others have ventured to the VUS headquarters, assuming positions as staff members. Notably, a few have achieved great success in diverse professions, including becoming flight attendants. I take immense pride in having played a role in sharing knowledge, inspiring them, and contributing to their future accomplishments.”

Ms. Nhat Anh always approaches her students with care, thus helping them become more disciplined and aspirational with their studying.
“If you set rules from the beginning, students will follow them. For those who are disruptive in the class, I am careful to not yell at them. I felt that yelling or criticizing would only make things worse, so I instead start a conversation and ask about their personal life. Even if they’re shy, students will be willing to share when asked. When connecting with each other’s life stories, they will confidently say the problem is “I was noisy because I want attention from the teacher.” Then I will say “Ok, you can get the teacher’s attention by raising your hand and contributing to the lesson. Just express your demand in a more positive way”. That’s how I solve most of the problems in my classes: on the basis of caring.”
Dang Nhat Anh – VUS Nguyen Duy Trinh
