How to refer an Expatriate Teacher
How to refer a Teaching Assistant
How to refer an Expatriate Teacher
REFERRAL PERIOD:
- The Expatriate Teachers Referral Campaign is valid from October 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.
- The campaign may end earlier if all of the vacancies are filled.
- Referral fees are quoted in gross amounts. Referrers are responsible for paying tax, if required, in accordance with current tax policy.
REFERRAL GUIDELINES:
1. Successful Referral:
A referral fee will be paid to the Referrer when all the following conditions are met:
- The “REFERRER” has obtained the “CANDIDATE”’s consent to share their information.
- The “REFERRER” submits accurate and sufficient information of the “CANDIDATE” in the referral form within the referral period.
- A complete package must include a picture of the 5 documents:
- Updated CV (must include “CANDIDATE”’s available contact information)
- BA/MA degree
- English Teaching Certificate (TESOL/TEFL/CELTA)
- Passport profile page
- Current Vietnam visa stamp if the “CANDIDATE” is currently based in Vietnam.
- The “CANDIDATE” must complete the interview process if shortlisted.
2. Referrer Eligibility:
- Eligible Referrers include:
- All VUS Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Staff currently working at VUS (excluding HR Teachers (HRT) department staff).
- Vietnamese citizens outside of VUS and have a registered personal income tax number in Vietnam.
- There is no limit on the number of Candidates per Referrer.
- First-come-first-served basis: in the case of duplicate Candidates, the qualified Referrer will be determined based on the date HRT receives the completed form along with the Candidate’s documents.
3. Candidate Requirements:
- Nationality: British, American, Australian, Canadian, New Zealander, Irish.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher and an English teaching certificate (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA).
- Has a valid TRC/visa for at least 1.5 months from the application date if residing in Viet Nam.
- “CANDIDATE”’s information should not exist in HRT’s database within the last 03 months.
- “CANDIDATE” can be former VUS teachers who have received positive feedback from their former VUS supervisor(s).

PAYMENT FEE & TERMS:
- Payment fee: 200,000 VND/successful Referral.
- Payment method: bank transfer
- Payment schedule: Referral bonuses will be paid in the month following confirmation that the “CANDIDATE” has been interviewed.
Notes:
- The working location will be offered based on VUS recruitment needs and upon agreement between HRT and the “CANDIDATE”.
- In the event of a dispute, VUS reserves the right to make final decisions regarding referral fees.
How to refer a Teaching Assistant
PRIZE AND REFERRAL PERIOD:
- Reward Amount: Referrers will receive a bonus corresponding to the campus region for each successful referral.
- The Teaching Assistants Referral Campaign is effective until December 31, 2025.
- Due to the limited number of prizes and vacancies, the campaign may end sooner than expected.
- Referral fees are quoted in gross amounts. Referrers are responsible for paying tax if required by authorities on all amounts exceeding 2,000,000 VND.
REFERRAL GUIDELINES:
1. A SUCCESSFUL REFERRAL fee is paid to the referrer when:
- The “REFERRER” has obtained the consent of the “CANDIDATE”,
- The “REFERRER” provides accurate and sufficient information of the “CANDIDATE” in the referral form during the referral period.
- The “REFERRED CANDIDATE” accepts the job offer and commences employment with VUS immediately after the interview.
2. For referrers:
- No limit on number of candidates per referrer.
- First come first served basis in case of Candidate duplication, based on the date HRT receives the form with the Candidate’s CV.
3. For candidates:
- University/College students aged 18+ or fresh graduates (within two years of graduation) for provincial campus positions.
- Be able to work on weekdays evenings and morning/afternoon shifts on the weekend.
- Good English communication skills.
- Must not be an existing or past candidate in the VUS recruitment database within the last six (06) months.

PAYMENT TERMS:
- Payment Method: The bonus will be paid via bank transfer.
- Payment Schedule: The bonus will be processed after the referred candidate successfully completes:
- One (01) month of employment for positions at provincial campuses.
- Probationary period for positions at Ho Chi Minh City campuses.
