On September 14, VUS teamed up with National Geographic Learning for an exciting workshop, where students from FLYERS level joined Rubén Salgado Escudero, a National Geographic explorer and photographer, known for his exhibitions in cities like New York, London, and Tokyo.

Through vivid images of different cultures, participants experienced ‘living in the dark,’ learning about the importance of natural energy for people in Myanmar without electricity, and were encouraged to value their own resources.

In addition, Rubén challenged them with the “Be an Archaeologist” activity, where they had 10 minutes to complete an ancient Maya mask puzzle. Besides listening to Rubén’s insights, students joined interactive group activities on photography, guided by VUS teacher Austin Rogers. Finally, they left with smiles and gifts, marking an unforgettable experience before the new school year.
Along with students participating in exciting workshops, teachers and teaching assistants at VUS will also have the opportunity to join similar workshops. These sessions allow them to develop their teaching skills, expand their knowledge, and learn from top experts.
