VUS recently welcomed more than 120 Teaching Assistants from the Quang Trung, Nguyen Anh Thu, To Ky, Cu Chi, Truong Chinh, and Phan Van Hon campuses to a meaningful Self-Awareness Workshop.
Designed as more than a simple training session, the program gave Teaching Assistants practical tools to better understand themselves, strengthen their emotional awareness, and apply these insights directly in the classroom to support students with greater empathy and flexibility.
1. Practical Reflection Through Real Classroom Scenarios
Instead of simply discussing theories, the workshop guided Teaching Assistants through hands-on reflection activities based on real classroom situations. Participants looked at moments when they felt confident, stressed, or unsure, and analyzed what triggered those emotions.
By revisiting these familiar scenarios, they were able to recognize their working habits, understand how their reactions influence students, and identify small but meaningful adjustments that could make their classroom support more effective.
2. Understanding Personality and Core Motivations
Participants engaged in a series of interactive activities, including inner–outer self-reflection exercises, MBTI-inspired personality exploration, and discussions about the role of personal values in decision-making.
These activities helped Teaching Assistants identify what motivates them and how they can bring empathy, authenticity, and flexibility into their everyday interactions with colleagues and learners.
3. A Connected and Supportive Learning Community
Beyond the individual insights, the workshop created a warm, collaborative environment where Teaching Assistants openly shared experiences, challenges, and personal stories.
These exchanges strengthened team connection and encouraged participants to approach their roles with renewed confidence—fostering the interpersonal skills essential to building a positive classroom experience.
At VUS, every workshop represents a step toward deeper understanding, stronger teamwork, and meaningful professional growth. These learning experiences are part of a broader commitment that VUS has upheld for nearly 30 years as a pioneer in English education in Vietnam.
With 68 campuses nationwide and more than 2,700 internationally qualified teaching staff, VUS continues to affirm its leading position through numerous prestigious recognitions— including a double victory at the Vietnam Technology Excellence Awards 2025 and two consecutive years being honored as an Inspirational Brand at APEA.
