At VUS, we are dedicated to making a difference in English language education and our community. In April and May 2024, we were pleased to make two significant contributions that reflect our mission to empower young Vietnamese minds and foster a brighter future for our community and nation.
Provincial English Competition: Fostering Skills and Confidence
One of our notable contributions was our collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue on the Provincial English Competition for junior high school students. Held at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, this event provided a platform for students to showcase their English proficiency through a series of debating activities.
Through the competition, students had the chance to learn and grow via a series of debating activities such as researching, handling pressure, and collaborating. The participants confidently presented compelling arguments, showcasing a high level of English proficiency, debate skills, along critical thinking.
This initiative not only recognized students’ hard work but also encouraged them to pursue their educational goals with confidence.
Scholarships for a Brighter Future
Our second significant contribution came in the form of the “VUS – Empowering Aspirations, Together” scholarships, awarded during the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign in Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong. These scholarships were designed to support students facing challenging circumstances, acknowledging their perseverance and dedication to their studies.
By providing these scholarships, VUS aimed to recognize and encourage students who demonstrate remarkable potential despite obstacles. We believe that financial support should never be a barrier to pursuing education, and our scholarships are a testament to our commitment to nurturing young talent and helping students achieve their academic dreams.
