How to refer a Teaching Assistant
How to refer an Expatriate Teacher
PRIZE AND REFERRAL PERIOD:
- The referrer will receive up to 7,000,000 VND upon 1 successful referral.
- The Expatriate Teachers Referral Campaign is valid from October 22, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
- Due to the limited number of prizes and vacancies, the campaign may end sooner than expected.
- Referral fees are quoted in gross amounts. Referrers are responsible for paying tax, if required, in accordance with current tax policy.
REFERRAL GUIDELINES:
1. A SUCCESSFUL REFERRAL fee is paid to the referrer when:
- The “REFERRER” has the consent of the “CANDIDATE”,
- The “REFERRER” provides accurate and sufficient information of the “CANDIDATE” in the referral form during the referral period.
- The “CANDIDATE” can start working within:
- 2 months after passing the interview with VUS if they are based in Vietnam.
- 3 months after passing the interview with VUS if they are from overseas.
2. For referrers:
- Referrers are all VUS Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Staff currently working at VUS (excluding HR Teachers (HRT) department staff) and any Vietnamese citizen outside of VUS.
- No limit on number of candidates per referrer.
- First come first served basis in case of Candidate duplication, based on the date HRT receives the form with the Candidate’s CV.
3. For candidates:
- Nationality: British, American, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, Irish
- Has a bachelor’s degree or higher and an English teaching certificate (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA)
- Has a valid TRC/visa for at least 1.5 months from the application date if residing in Viet Nam
- Candidate’s information should not exist in HRT’s database within the last 03 months
- Candidates can be former VUS teachers who have received positive feedback from their former VUS supervisor(s)

PAYMENT TERMS:
- Payment: bank transfer
- Payment date: after the “CANDIDATE” has passed probation and obtained a work permit with VUS.
Notes:
- The teacher’s probationary period is 2 months.
- The working location will be offered based on VUS recruitment needs and upon agreement between HRT and Candidate.
- In the event of a dispute, VUS reserves the right to make final decisions regarding referral fees.
How to refer a Teaching Assistant
PRIZE AND REFERRAL PERIOD:
- The referrer will receive 500,000 VND upon 1 successful referral.
- The Teaching Assistants Referral Campaign is valid from January 20th to March 31st 2025.
- Due to the limited number of prizes and vacancies, the campaign may end sooner than expected.
- Referral fees are quoted in gross amounts. Referrers are responsible for paying tax if required by authorities on all amounts exceeding 2,000,000 VND.
REFERRAL GUIDELINES:
1. A SUCCESSFUL REFERRAL fee is paid to the referrer when:
- The “REFERRER” has the consent of the “CANDIDATE”,
- The “REFERRER” provides accurate and sufficient information of the “CANDIDATE” in the referral form during the referral period.
- The “CANDIDATE” can start working immediately after passing the interview with VUS.
2. For referrers:
- Referrers are all VUS Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Staff currently working at VUS [excluding HR Teachers (HRT) department staff] and any Vietnamese citizen outside of VUS.
- No limit on number of candidates per referrer.
- First come first served basis for duplication, based on the date HRT receives the form with the candidate’s CV.
3. For candidates:
- Nationality: Vietnamese.
- Based in Vietnam.
- University/College students aged 18+ or recent graduates (within 2 years of graduation).
- Be able to work on weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons.
- Good English communication skills.

Notes:
- We will notify you of the candidate’s qualification status within 2 working days of receiving your referral form.
- The sign-on bonus is offered for specific campuses and will be confirmed between the candidate and the recruitment team after the candidate’s working location has been finalized.
- VUS reserves the right to make or change the final decisions about the referrals.
